COMPUTER TRAINING & UK LINK SCHOOLS

COMPUTER TRAINING & UK LINK SCHOOLS

2020 has started well with a residential 4 day computer training course in Kathmandu for the teachers from the schools supported by IYH.

As normal our friends from TMO arranged for the whole thing to happen. As normal we acknowledge non of this could happen without them. Mahendra, Milan and Lamin give us a partnership to treasure.

One of the most important parts of this training course was the commitment to sending a message to their UK Link schools. Each school we support has been linked to a school in the UK that has raised money for them and wants to have a relationship through cyber space. Their ability to use computers properly means that children and teachers from both countries can share stories, learning resources, festivals and become friends. Who knows, some of them might meet in the future. Jo Pawley (Director of IYH ) is joining a group of girls from Sydenham High School from London, to visit thier link school in NEPAL this coming autumn following the first incredibly successful visit in 2017.

Here are a couple of the emails that come from the NEPAL schools to their link schools. You will see there is a big difference in English but you will see there is no difference in enthusiasm:

“Dear Jane,
